Ever visit a place often enough that you feel you need a break from? That was the case for me with TCF, and although I love the menu at Grand Lux Cafe (their sister full-service restaurant) just a scintilla more, I have had great experiences here. So, it was time to revisit! I called in advance to check on whether reservations would be taken, but they still have not changed this--no reservations and no call-ahead-seating.
We waited about 20 minutes on a very busy Saturday night. Then, we were cordially seated and matched with a superb server who right quick brought us a hot (yes, hot versus warm) basket of assorted breads and butter. Genius--it wouldn't be for another forty minutes until we'd be served--but the bread stopped the hunger pangs!
When we finally got down to the food, we gorged on my dish which consisted of tender, well-seasoned pieces of coconut-lime chicken, snow peas, shiitake mushrooms, onions and garlic in a Thai curry sauce with a few scattered peanuts and cashews and mango--so good--but I gotta say, my home-cooked rice is way better. The other plate we feasted on was the Lasagna Verde (green) with layers of spinach pasta, hand-grated parmesan, mozzarrella, and fontina cheeses, covered in mushroom marinara and tomato sauces--freshly made in their kitchen. The portions were big enough for two y'all, so, though we planned on topping the night off with a Dulce de Leche cheesecake, we ended up taking it home.
Withal, the food and service was gratifying that all the waiting was redeemed! -

I love The Cheesecake Factory and went to other locations before. However, today's experience at the Sawgrass Mall location was pretty disappointing. When we entered the restaurant, the hostess greeted us in a friendly way and asked how many people we are. We asked for a table for 5. The wait wasn't too bad, it took approximately 5-10 minutes until another hostess showed us to our table. We saw a booth with 4 plates & menus so we wanted to confirm with her that we are getting a table for 5. She seemed annoyed, turned around and grabbed a chair from somewhere while commenting "Well now it's for 5!" with a sassy attitude. She disappeared and didn't even put a 5th menu or plate on the table.
The waitress Christina on the other hand listened to our dietary needs, smiled and confirmed to make sure the order is correct. I would give her 5 stars for her awesome service.
When it came to ordering the beverages I picked a cocktail, assuming that the drink - just like at any other Cheesecake Factory - would taste great. But unfortunately that wasn't the case. It tasted like coke with lime sour - nothing else though. My husband tasted it and confirmed that it wasn't just me. Oh well... I thought to myself "it happens every now and then I guess" (even though I would expect more for a $13.00 drink).
The food arrived and we were all excited to eat. When I looked at my salad I noticed some unidentifiable dark brown, crispy things (I assume croutons) which were not listed on the menu and there were only two of those things in the corner of the plate. Those croutons(?) probably fell on there by accident. No big deal, except it tasted burned so I didn't even bother eating the second crouton.
After all it seems like there were a few unfortunate incidents that left a bitter aftertaste after visiting this location. I'm not saying that this is the standard, because the staff (except the sassy hostess) was very friendly.
Update from 9/16: changing my review to 4 stars since Cheesecake Factory customer service reached out to me and apologized for the unusual experience at their restaurant. -

We are extremely disappointed in our 2 lunch episodes yrsterday-We ordered food online for my son who works in the mall for his LUNCH BREAK. When you place a $20 pasta order at 2pm to be ready by 2:30pm and it's not ready standing at the bakery counter for an additional 30 mins and it's NOW 3pm and you have wasted your whole break 1/2 hour waiting for cheesecake factory to get you your order right that you paid for to go online and hour ago is absolutely unacceptable. By the time he got back to work he had no time to eat. The manager said "sorry" NO that is not ok.
Secondly, while I was there having lunch I ordered a pasta dish with a side of chicken for my other son to bring home while my husband and I had lunch to take to go. I didn't check it but when we got home it was the most disgusting white looking almost like it was boiled chicken on top so unappealing and unappetizing my son wouldn't even eat it and I don't blame him because I wouldn't of eaten it either. (check out the photo's$
For a $20 plate of pasta the chicken it should be on point, appetizing and delicious. Two times in one day & Cheesecake couldn't get it together and disappointed us & less someone should be notified! -

It can be a hit or miss at any location. Yesterday was in between. We came here for lunch and we were seated right away before the lunch crowd came in. Our waitress greeted us and we put in our order. Then it started getting crowded about half way in.
Our kids didn't get their drinks until we had to remind our waitress about it. I don't think it was an intentional thing, but when the kids asked where they were for the third time, it's a little unusual. The drinks were served and all was good. My husband and I got our meals before our kids did. Another flaw. Even though we got a small plate and a salad, there wasn't any reason why the kid's meal didn't come out. Only one of them was ordered since they could split the huge portion of it.
The pot stickers were great and I usually get these every time that I'm at a Cheesecake location. My husband enjoyed his salad and the kids happily munched on their food. The caramel pecan turtle cheesecake ended the lunch sweetly. The service could have been a little better with the meals coming out and not too impressed with how the drinks were handled for the kids. I can't say I wouldn't return to the location, but it definitely needs improvement.
